NATIONAL CONTEXT
- Abortion impacts the United States because there are different types of perspectives people have and the way they view the issue some people are for abortion and some people are against abortion there are a lot of young teenage girls having sexual intercourse at an early age and are having abortions without their parents knowing. Having an abortion can affect the body in many ways. Some ways are the female would get diarrhea, cramps, and start vomiting.
- In New York City 37% of all pregnancies ended in abortions this is twice the national average. ("In 2012, 37% of all viable pregnancies in New York City", 2014).
- In 2011 California had a total of 802,400 women pregnant and 63% of the women gave birth and 23% of them had an abortion. The total number of abortions in California is 181,730. California was ranked number one in abortions in the United States. ("California Abortion Facts | Abort73.com", 2011)
Activist all over the world are creating programs like the pro-life action league to help women of all ages go through the process of a pregnancy. The league is also for women to see that there are other options such as adoption. And abortion isn’t the only way out of a pregnancy. People in this league protest and fight so that abortion can be illegal for people who want to abort without any reasons. ("Pro-Life Action League", 2014)
The global context is similar to the national contexts because my issue isn't something that happens in only one place. Abortion happens all over the world. All girls have to go through the same steps of having a baby and deciding what they want to do with the baby.
